There is fear and suspicion among nations of being dragged into another Cold War showdown between the US and Russia. Kyiv may be the victim and Moscow the aggressor, but in the eyes of many, Washington is not totally innocent in all of this.Īs the self-appointed “world policeman”, the US stands accused or at least is seen to interfere in the internal affairs of other states under different pretexts, including in and around Russia and China. The short answer: it may have less to do with Ukraine and more to do with America. And while 11 out of 15 UN Security Council members did vote in favour of the resolution, many states stopped short of unequivocal condemnation and most just called for the cessation of violence and return to negotiations.Īll of which begs the question, why? Why have the economically and strategically unified and dominant Western nations failed to secure unequivocal universal denunciation of what is evidently a blatant violation of international law? The two major Asian nations, China and India did not sharply condemn the Russian attack, nor did large African nations like Nigeria, South Africa, and Egypt.īrazil also wavered until it succumbed to US pressure to vote in favour of the UN Security Council condemning the Russian invasion on February 25. But in the following few days, international reactions fell short of a universal denunciation of Moscow. Parents are Moms and Dads first.Ĭulture: Politics is downstream of culture, therefore parents voices must be magnified to turn the cultural conversation back to protecting fundamental parental rights, which transcend cultural fads, ideological trends and government overreach.“In terms of a Cold War… you have the vast majority of the rest of the world in total opposition to what is doing… It’s going to be a cold day for Russia,” observed US President Joe Biden at a February 24 press conference shortly after Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine. Unity: Fundamental parental rights transcend political parties, religious or non-religious view. Parents: Parents hold the first, and most important, role in the life-long well-being of their children and it is their fundamental right to direct, guide, and make decisions regarding their child’s physical, moral, educational, and medical care.Ĭhildren: Children flourish and thrive most under the guidance and care of their parents who love them and know them best, and who will protect their innocence from cultural pressures to grow up too quickly.Ĭommunity: Parents should be connected to empower one another and stand united for their fundamental right to be the ultimate authority in their children’s lives. Together we will transform the culture to one that respects our fundamental right to protect, guide and advocate for our children.įamily: The family is the basic building block and backbone of any thriving society. We will gladly partner with and support those who acknowledge our unalienable right to guide and protect our children, but we will not allow any institution, elected official, administrator, or cultural trend to push us out of our rightful role as THE parents to OUR children. We are the ones who comfort them in the middle of the night or when they fall we are the ones who hold their hands during first steps and in the doctor’s waiting rooms we are the ones who stand on their sports sidelines and by their bedsides. We are the ones who know them, love them and care for them better than anyone else ever will. We are our children’s first teachers and their greatest champions. Our children do not belong to the government, the schools or society. We are the parents and we are united! We will stand together for our rights to raise our children and be the primary authority in their lives.
